Description
As I set out on my adventure to capture the beauty of Oceanside Beach State Recreation Area, I knew I was in for quite the treat. With my gear loaded up, I made my way toward the sea stacks Shag, Finley, and Storm Rock.
As I arrived at the park, I could feel my excitement growing. There were so many activities to enjoy, from wildlife watching to fishing, windsurfing, and kite flying. But my focus was on the breathtaking beauty of the sea stacks. I couldn't wait to capture them in my photos.
With the Pacific Ocean to my west and homes on a steep slope to the east, I was ready to take on this challenge. And there was an extra bonus, Three Arch Rocks sat only 0.5 miles offshore, part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Known for its breeding colonies of tufted puffins, common murres, and other birds, the rocks were the perfect addition to my shot.
I eagerly got to work, framing the perfect shot and adjusting my lens to capture the perfect details. The water splashed against the sea stacks, sun illuminating the clouds from behind, creating a mesmerizing scene.
It was truly a challenging yet exhilarating experience to shoot such a stunning location. Looking back on this photo now, I can feel the thrill of that moment all over again. Even though Steller sea lions evaded me during my visit, I knew I had captured a moment in time that was truly magical.
I hope you enjoy the image and perhaps have it on your wall some day!
