If ghost towns are your thing, Bodie needs to be on your bucket list. I have visited Bodie ghost town many times over the years, but this particular trip was very rare in that I had the whole place to myself, except a park ranger. Probably because it was the day before Thanksgiving, was 20 degrees, and 30 minutes after I made this photograph it started dumping snow. Bodie is not a place you want to get stranded!
What's interesting about this photograph is that I was contacted by one of the descendents of the Dechambeau family, which originally owned the hotel. She was very old and had never been able to visit Bodie to see the hotel. I sent her a print and we remained friends until, I assume, she passed away.
