"We hiked all day, then retired to this rocky outcropping to watch the evening pass by over this basin lake. I set the camera up on the tripod and didn’t move it for about three hours, snapping a picture every few minutes as the sun moved across the sky to its resting place. Hundreds of images later, this is the one I think best conveys the peace and stillness of the water, the rich lighting of the evening sun, and the immersive diorama of the lakeshore below.
