This painting was created en plein air on location just east of Estes Park, Colorado last year during the Estes Park plein air competition.
I discovered this valley along a quiet country road, just as the early fall colors were beginning to transform the landscape.
The entire time I keeped my eyes open for an unexpected visit from a moose or bear.
I set up my easel and worked undisturbed, hearing only the early morning birds and enjoying the crisp, fresh scent of the morning grasses.
The painting was completed on linen mounted on board, which makes it easy to transport home in a wet carrying panel case.
The pianting is sold unframed, allowing collectors to select a frame that best suits their space and personal style.
