I painted A vintage muse to explore that meeting — the car’s confident geometry against a luminous, almost floral, atmospheric field that reads like a landscape at first glance.
What began as a study in form became an exercise in light and mood. I poured hours into layered washes and glazing, using mixed media to build depth and a soft, sparkling background that suggests sea air and roadside grasses. The headlight’s ring is a small sun; the wheel’s profile anchors the composition. My brushwork is deliberate but playful here — precise on the car, loose and contemplative in the surrounding color fields. Signed and dated lower left, this original piece blends automotive nostalgia with a nature-inspired palette.
